Multinational appoints new Western Europe regional managing partner

The new regional managing partner has been listed third among Italy's most power lawyers.

Linklaters named Claudia Parzani as Western Europe Regional Managing Partner, taking over from Pieter Riemer for a four-year term from 1 November.

In her new role, Parzani will sit on the firm’s executive committee, responsible for key management decisions to help shape the firm’s strategy and vision.

The senior lawyer joined Linklaters as a Capital Markets partner in 2007, specializing in capital markets and public M&A ‎transactions as well as on corporate governance matters.

She is co-head of the Consumer sector group at Linklaters and sits as a non-executive member in the board of directors of Allianz S.p.A. and Borsa Italiana S.p.A.

Parzani has been listed third among Italy’s most powerful lawyers and was named by the Financial Times as one of the 10 most innovative legal professionals in Europe.

Until earlier this year, she was also President of Valore D, the first association of large companies formed in Italy to support and increase women’s leadership in the corporate world. She has been a strong advocate of diversity and inclusion initiatives both at Linklaters and in her role with Valore D.

In 2015, Parzani was the recipient of “The International Alliance for Women (TIAW) World of Difference 100 Award  - Community category” for her significant contribution to the economic empowerment of women.

“I would  like to thank Pieter for the excellent role that he has played leading the region over the last four years, building and sustaining the leading European practice we are proud to have today,” says the firm’s Gideon Moore.

“I am tremendously excited that Claudia is now stepping up to this role. She brings an energy, dynamism and client-centric approach in all that she does and I am confident that she is going to make a terrific contribution both in the region and as member of the firmwide leadership team,” the Linklaters firmwide managing partner adds.
