She joins the Melbourne office as a partner
Johnson Winter Slattery (JWS) has announced the appointment of new partner Lee Carroll as the head of its arbitration team.
She will work from the Melbourne office. She has advised investors and sovereign state parties on investment protection under bilateral and multilateral treaties.
Carroll has tackled large-scale complex disputes. She has assisted clients with arbitrations subject to arbitral rules like the ICC, ACICA, DIAC, BCDR-AAA, Resolution Institute and UNCITRAL Rules.
Her appointment boosts JWS’ disputes and domestic and international arbitration as arbitration demand rises from the firm’s clients in energy and resources and infrastructure. She has worked across London, Paris and Australia.
Moreover, Carroll sits on the ACICA Professional Advisory Council, the ACICA Rules Committee, ICC Australia, and the Australian & New Zealand Sports Law Association. She has worked with the state of Papua New Guinea and the state of Victoria.
She commenced with the firm on 17 November.
Joining Carroll as a new partner at JWS is Andrew Gill, who operates from the firm’s Canberra office. He has handled disputes in the agriculture, environment, defence and technology sectors.
He brings more than 25 years of experience in commercial litigation and dispute resolution, having advised listed public companies, private companies and government authorities in major Australian jurisdictions. He focuses on government regulatory and controversy matters. His clients have included Airservices Australia, Hewlett Packard and the Department of Defence.
