Wendy Fauvel and Kelly Coulston have departed Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) Kramer for Lander & Rogers’ partnership.

The new partners commenced with Lander & Rogers on Monday 2 March. Fauvel joins the workplace relations and safety (WR&S) team in Sydney, while Coulston began working with the commercial disputes team in Brisbane.

Fauvel is an expert in enterprise bargaining and industrial disputes. She has guided employers on enterprise bargaining strategy, industrial action, workplace investigations, complex payroll and governance reviews, and employment litigation; moreover, she oversaw collective and individual employment disputes.

Previously based in Brisbane, she has worked with in-house HR, legal and executive teams in private and ASX-listed companies. She led responses to significant industrial disputes before the Fair Work Commission and the courts.

Lander & Rogers’ WR&S practice group leaders Sally Moten and Will Spargo said Fauvel’s appointment boosts the firm’s capacity in this area “as bargaining and industrial activity continue to intensify across Australia”.

Meanwhile, Coulston has tackled complex commercial litigation, class actions, infrastructure disputes, corporate insolvency and investigations. She has represented clients in significant proceedings before the Supreme Courts of Queensland, NSW and Victoria, as well as the Federal Court.

Her clients operate in the energy and infrastructure, mining and resources, financial services, government, retail and real estate sectors. She has defended complex class actions involving continuous disclosure, negligence and consumer claims; moreover, she has advised on regulatory investigations, assisted clients with strategic claims management, and resolved disputes arising from large-scale infrastructure projects.

Coulston seconded as senior legal counsel at Lendlease, where she oversaw disputes and collaborated with the group general counsel and with senior project, commercial and operational leaders. She also brings experience in arbitration, adjudication, mediation and expert determination.

Genevieve Dee, partner-in-charge of the Brisbane office at Lander & Rogers, highlighted Coulston’s litigation capability, class actions and infrastructure disputes experience, and commercial approach to dispute resolution as assets for the team.
