Lander & Rogers launches consulting practice for general counsel and in-house legal teams

Lander & Rogers has started the year expanding its service offerings with the launch of a dedicated consulting arm for general counsel and in-house lawyers.

The firm has appointed Anthony Kearns as chief client experience officer and practice group leader – consulting. Formerly a lawyer, Kearns was most recently the global head of business development and client experience – corporate at Herbert Smith Freehills.

Kearns, who has extensive experience as a leadership and performance expert, works with GCs of large organisations to enhance the performance of in-house legal teams. He is an expert in organisational development, leadership development, management consulting, risk management, and legal services, the firm said.

“In today's shifting business and regulatory environment, the challenges faced by our clients are often felt most keenly by their general counsel and in-house lawyers,” said Genevieve Collins, chief executive partner at Lander & Rogers. “I'm thrilled that we are now able to support our clients in a significant new capacity, by providing them with strategic advice on how their in-house legal function can quickly respond to change and best meet the needs of their business.”

“A lot of firms talk about their commitment to clients, but Lander & Rogers really does place exceptional client service at its heart,” Kearns said. “The work of in-house legal teams has never been more important to organisations and I look forward to helping the lawyers within our clients enhance their effectiveness, impact and value."

Lander & Rogers recently launched a family law practice in Brisbane. The firm also recently launched LawTech Hub, its innovation incubator, in Sydney. The firm last year also unveiled iHub, its standalone function dedicated to innovation.
