KWM leads as construction giant enters recycling business

King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has helped a major construction materials company enter the recycling and asphalt business.

KWM acted for Hanson Australia on its acquisition of Alex Fraser Group. The Australia-based company, which was listed for sale in 2017 by UK-based Swire Group, was acquired for about $208m.

M&A partner Adrian Perkins in Sydney led the KWM team. He was assisted by senior associate James Slimnicanovski, as well as solicitors Will Mason, Sam Monk, and Will Bartlett.

KWM has previously advised Hanson in major transactions, including its $203m acquisition of Fletcher Building’s Rocla Quarry Products business.
