Former K&L Gates special counsel Andrew Whittingham has jumped to Keypoint Law as its newest consulting principal.

Whittingham is a veteran of corporate law who has tackled matters related to public and private M&A, equity capital markets, corporate restructurings, commercial contracts and foreign investment regulations. He joins Keypoint’s corporate and transactional practice.

He assisted in Universal Robina Corporation’s acquisition of Snack Brands Australia as well as its strategic joint venture with Intersnack. He was also involved in the Vodafone/TPG Telecom merger.

Whittingham helped with Snack Brands Australia’s restructuring via members’ scheme of arrangement and advised on Basiq’s sale to Cuscal Limited. He also guided Pacific Equity Partners’ acquisition of Spotless and advised Telstra Corporation Limited as it divested its New Zealand subsidiary TelstraClear to Vodafone.

Prior to his stint with K&L Gates, he was with Norton Rose Fulbright and Gilbert + Tobin.

“With a proven track record acting on complex corporate transactions, and the trust of some of Australia’s most prominent brands, Andrew brings exceptional expertise and a pragmatic approach that will be invaluable to our clients and the firm as a whole”, Keypoint CEO Warren Kalinko said.

Whittingham will work from the firm’s Sydney office.

Recently, Keypoint also brought in lawyer-accountant Nick Karolidis as a consulting principal for its Melbourne team. Karolidis, who commenced his career at KPMG, focuses on tax and property law, business structuring, and commercial contracts.
