Lilian Zhou also joins the practice in a senior role
Holding Redlich has brought in Louise Hogg as a partner in its workplace relations and safety practice in Queensland.
Hogg has advised employers for nearly two decades. She is an expert in Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth)-related matters like enterprise bargaining, industrial action, transfer of business, redundancies, and dismissal-related disputes.
She has acted for clients before the Federal Court and the Fair Work Commission in major litigation. She has tackled issues involving Queensland’s public sector employment legislation and the Industrial Relations Act.
Hogg has managed workers’ compensation claims, especially psychological injury claims resulting from management action.
Joining Hogg on Holding Redlich’s Queensland workplace relations and safety team is Lilian Zhou, who is the firm’s newest special counsel. She has helped clients to navigate the full employment cycle, having conducted both front-end advisory and back-end advocacy work.
She has tackled employment strategy and regulatory change matters in Queensland’s residential construction sector. She has worked directly with state and federal government bodies.
Zhou has handled matters related to wage audits, enterprise bargaining, employment documentation, and workplace disputes including unfair dismissal, discrimination, bullying, and termination. She has acted for clients before the Fair Work Commission, Queensland Industrial Relations Commission and federal courts.
At Holding Redlich, she will concentrate on boosting the firm’s workplace capability in the construction sector.
Holding Redlich national managing partner Troy Lewis said that Hogg and Zhou’s appointments would enable the firm to launch an employer workplace relations and safety practice in Brisbane, which he said would “become a core part of our national capability in this area”.
“Their combined advisory and advocacy experience in public and private sector matters and litigation will also deepen our bench strength nationally, at a time of significant demand for strategic workplace advice”, Lewis said.
