Global law firm Clyde & Co, which launched in Tripoli four years ago following the downfall of Muammar Gaddafi, has closed it Tripoli office over safety concerns.
The firm was the first international law firm to establish a presence in Libya in more than four decades.
A spokesperson from Clyde & Co confirmed that all Libyan operations have been moved offshore ‘for the time being’.
The decision to close down the office, which is understood to have happened in April was reportedly prompted by concerns for the safety of the firm’s staff.
The firm will continue to service Libyan clients from its offices in the Middle East and London.
