Middleton and Taglieri to move from Division 2 to Division 1
The Australian government has congratulated the following on their judicial appointments to the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (FCFCOA) as of 10 August 2026: Steven Middleton and Sandra Taglieri to Division 1, and Tracy Flintoff to Division 2.
A media release from the Attorney-General’s Department specified that Middleton, Taglieri, and Flintoff have accepted the following appointments:
“The Government has made these appointments following merit-based processes to ensure that judicial appointments meet the high standards Australians expect,” said Michelle Rowland, Australia’s attorney-general, in the media release.
According to the Attorney-General’s Department, after an open call for expressions of interest, an advisory panel composed of eminent individuals considered the applications that led to these three judicial appointments.
“I congratulate Judge Steven Middleton, Judge Sandra Taglieri and Ms Tracy Flintoff on their appointments and thank them for their willingness to serve the Australian community,” Rowland said in the media release.
The department’s media release provided more information regarding Middleton, Taglieri, and Flintoff.
