FCFCOA welcomes Amelia Edwards, Corey Jenkins, Philippa Mitchell, Frances Neilson to bench

The Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2) has welcomed Amelia Edwards, Philippa Mitchell, Corey Jenkins and Frances Neilson to the bench as judges.

They will take up their new roles on 3 February. Edwards and Mitchell have been appointed to the Melbourne registry, Jenkins to the Townsville registry, and Neilson to the Parramatta registry.

Edwards began serving as a FCFCOA and Federal Court national judicial registrar in 2023. In 2011, she was admitted as a legal practitioner in the Victoria Supreme Court and the High Court of Australia.

Mitchell made partner at Clayton Utz in 2017. She was admitted as a legal practitioner in the Victoria Supreme Court and the High Court of Australia in 2005.  

Jenkins was appointed as an FCFCOA senior judicial registrar in 2021. In 2009, he was admitted as a legal practitioner in the Queensland Supreme Court.

Neilson commenced as an FCFCOA senior judicial registrar in 2022. She was admitted as a solicitor to the NSW Supreme Court in 1992 and to the High Court in 1993.
