DLA Piper acts on sportswear brand acquisition
DLA Piper has advised on the acquisition of the BLK sportswear business from World Rugby Specialists, which went into administration in November.

The BLK Sport business, brand and associated sub-brands have been acquired by BLK International – a consortium led by Esperanca Timor Oan and other Timor–Leste- and Fiji-based investors – for an undisclosed sum on 13 January.

Receivers and managers as well as administrators were appointed for World Rugby specialists last year which affected popular sports clubs which were supplied BLK. The existing BLK business executive team and senior management will stay as BLK International will continue to operate BLK Sport.

DLA Piper’s team was led by Brisbane corporate partner Lyndon Masters with senior associate Alexander Samson.
