The firm received the accolade for a second straight year
The Diversity Council of Australia has named Slater and Gordon an inclusive employer for a second straight year.
The firm’s senior leadership team is mainly composed of women. It also provides legal services in over 25 languages. Moreover, the firm has sponsored the yearly African Music and Cultural Festival since it was launched in 2014.
According to Slater and Gordon, it aims to cultivate an environment where people of all backgrounds “feel supported, respected, and able to fully participate”.
“Many of the people who come to us feel unheard or overlooked. Being able to engage with a team that reflects their community, their culture, or their lived experience can make a meaningful difference. Whether that is speaking their first language or working with someone who understands their background, it helps create trust and dignity at moments when people need it most”, said Slater and Gordon CEO Dina Tutungi.
She explained that diversity and inclusion were central to the firm’s identity and its goal to open up access to justice to Australians.
“This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to creating a workplace where everyone feels respected, supported, and able to contribute their lived experience. It’s not just about the workplace. An inclusive culture strengthens how we listen, how we collaborate, and how we stand alongside the people and communities we represent”, Tutungi said.
