DibbsBarker managing partner steps down

After 9 years, DibbsBarker managing partner will be leaving the firm.

Commercial firm DibbsBarker has announced this morning that managing partner Alan McArthur will leave the firm when his current term ends in July.

After nine years in the position, McArthur is the firm’s longest serving managing partner.

“Alan has played an instrumental part in the development and growth of our firm’s industry strategy, as well as the  promotion and recruitment of exceptional people to help lead the firm forward with a focus on supporting emerging businesses and offering innovative legal services,” said chairman Andrew Saxton.

“We are grateful for his wonderful leadership.”

DibbsBarker, which has 48 partners across the Brisbane, Canberra and Sydney offices, is in the process of selecting a new managing partner.

“The firm will continue to thrive with outstanding talent and a strong portfolio of leading institutions as key clients,” McArthur said.

“I have enjoyed so much about my time with DibbsBarker, but most gratifying of all has been to see the growth of a great team in an environment that is warm, collegiate and truly unique during a period of enormous change and opporuntity for the legal profession.”

DibbsBarker could not confirm whether McArthur, who has served at the helm of both Simpson Grierson and Finlaysons, would be moving to another law firm before this article was published.
