Amber Warren, the firm’s first female chair, calls this ‘an extraordinary achievement’
Dentons has shared that it is the first large law firm in Australia to announce it has obtained a zero-percent median gender pay gap following completion of its Workplace Gender Equality Agency compliance reporting for 2025.
“In just three years, Dentons has moved from a 15% median gender pay gap in 2022, 7.1% in 2023, 4.1% in 2024 and now 0% in 2025,” said Amber Warren, Dentons Australia chair, in a news release from the firm. “It’s an extraordinary achievement.”
In its news release, Dentons said the milestone marks it as a leader in gender equity within the legal industry and the country’s broader business community.
“Being the first Australian law firm to achieve a 0% median gender pay gap is a testament to our Dentons' dedication to equity and the hard work of our team,” said Elise Ivory – partner and co-executive sponsor of Women United, Dentons’ gender advocacy group – in the news release.
“This achievement is a direct result of our commitment to policies that support work-life balance, such as 26 weeks of paid family leave, bonus leave and flexible working arrangements,” said Brooke Spain – partner and co-executive sponsor of Women United – in the news release.
In its news release, Dentons noted that the following drove its progress in gender pay equity:
Warren said the Gender 360 Strategy and the firm’s commitment to gender equity have helped it make recent strides in this area, including the latest achievement.
“This milestone is not just a number; it's a reflection of our values and the inclusive culture we've cultivated,” Ivory said in the firm’s news release.
“Achieving this ahead of other firms further validates our approach and motivates us to continue leading by example,” Spain added in the news release.
“We are committed to creating a workplace where every individual can thrive [and] is valued for their contribution,” Warren said in the news release.
Warren took on the role of the first female chair of Dentons in Australia at the beginning of this year. She will lead the firm’s Australian branch for two years.
