Corporate and transactions specialist enhances Hall & Wilcox partnership

Hall & Wilcox has expanded its expertise in corporate and transactional law with the addition of Steve Johns to the partnership.

Johns specialises in M&A, joint ventures, and private capital raisings. He is an expert in transactions involving in the technology, life sciences, biotechnology, and services sectors.

He has advised foreign and domestic corporations as well as private equity and venture capital funds. He has considerable experience working in the Australian and American markets, as well as in handling transactions across the APAC region.

Johns said that he was eager to leverage his international experience and global network to bolster Hall & Wilcox’s presence in the US and Southeast Asia.

Adatree sale to Fat Zebra

A team from Hall & Wilcox also recently pitched in on the sale of fintech company Adatree to payments gateway Fat Zebra.

Fintech and blockchain lead John Bassilios led the team that drafted and negotiated heads of agreement and the share purchase deed to complete and settle the sale of all Adatree shares.

Bassilios worked alongside partner Anthony Bradica, special counsel James Bull, and lawyer Daniel Shizas.

Adatree is an open data intermediary for the Australian Consumer Data Right. In 2021, it was part of Hall & Wilcox’s Frank Lab startup program.
