CBP snags insurance partner

Colin Biggers & Paisley has hired a new partner from an international firm.

Vijay Edwards has joined the firm’s insurance team in Brisbane from Clyde & Co, where he was special counsel.

Edwards, who has more than 11 years’ experience, specialises in both litigated and non-litigated complex multi-party claims. He acts for insurers, claims management companies, and brokers in insurance litigation, including public and product liability claims, sports liability, construction liability, property damage claims and insurance recoveries.

Gavin Creighton, the deputy head of the firm’s insurance practice, said that Edwards’ arrival further builds the firm’s presence in Brisbane.

Edwards has the capability of managing litigation in both Queensland and New South Wales. His appointment follows the firm's promotion of Stuart Unwin to special counsel and Patrick Cavanagh to senior associate in Brisbane.
