Australia's best young up-and-comers take the spotlight

Being a pillar of support for both clients and colleagues was a key trait for many of Australasian Lawyer’s Rising Stars for 2023.

Rema Hamdan has spearheaded the development of client relationships in her role as legal counsel on Source Legal’s employment and safety team. But in addition to working with her own clients, she was also a valuable support to a senior legal counsel in working on their matter.

Holding Redlich’s Michael O’Connor is a strong believer in vibing with clients.

“In terms of deeper relationships with clients and a disruption model, it seems to be that the best success stories that we've had are when we're building that rapport with the clients, in a way where you're both in the trenches”, he says.

Stephen Rohl came into Maddocks ready to put his skills in both IP and science to excellent use, providing not just legal advice to clients but sharing his expertise through the firm’s internal publication.
