Ashurst has relocated its Sydney headquarters to new premises at 39 Martin Place.

The firm’s new office will span 10,000 square metres of commercial office space across eight interconnected floors. According to Ashurst, it is the first tenant to sign up to the precinct.

“Ashurst’s new Sydney office at 39 Martin Place is a state-of-the-art facility that will bring our people and clients together. The firm is committed to creating working environments where people are supported to perform at their best, both in the office and at home. We have built a 21st-century workplace that serves our people and our clients”, Ashurst Australia head of region Lea Constantine said.

The office will have five working floors, an alternative work floor, dedicated client floors with space for both formal and informal meetings, a café and terrace area that is open to staff and clients, and events and training spaces. Ashurst teamed up with Architectus and MPA on the office’s design and delivery; the design was founded on principles of collaboration, agile working, and premium client engagement, the firm said.

The work floors have been fitted with sit/stand workstations, breakout spaces, tech-enabled meeting rooms, focus pods and rooms, and drop-in benches; the space also includes more internal meeting rooms. Meanwhile, the alternative work floor contains bookable and non-bookable meeting and project rooms, fixed or flexible work zones with moveable walls, furniture, and screens.

39 Martin Place is completely powered by renewable energy and has a 6 Star Green Star rating and a 5.5 Star NABERS Energy rating; in line with Ashurst’s sustainability commitment, the new office fitout has been designed to reach an Environmentally Sustainable Design outcome. The building is directly linked to Martin Place Train Station and Martin Place Metro Station.
