Allens has welcomed five new partners to its ranks.

Chair Fiona Crosbie described the group as “future leaders” and highlighted how the new partners would strengthen the firm’s energy, ESG, IP, M&A, and tax offerings.

Joshua Hoare is part of the M&A and capital markets team in Melbourne. He has worked on billion-dollar deals on behalf of clients like KKR, Blackstone and Morgan Stanley.

Danielle Jones is with the projects team in Sydney. She concentrates on green energy infrastructure development projects, acquisitions and divestments, and bespoke energy contracting.

Tracy Lu works with the IP team in Sydney. Her clients include News Corp and Westpac, and she has provided guidance on complex IP arrangements, patent disputes and the IP aspects of high-value M&A transactions.

Tom Tian practises with the tax team in Sydney, and Emily Turnbull works with the disputes and investigations team in Melbourne as well as with the risk and compliance advisory practice.

Managing partner Richard Spurio said that the appointments reflected “the varied pathways to partnership, whether that is having commenced their career at Allens, joined the firm more recently, or indeed having spent some time with our alliance firm Linklaters". The firm also indicated that with the new partnership additions, it is on track to meet its diversity target of 40:40:20 by 2025.

The new appointments will take effect on 1 July.
