Allens has advised the winning consortium in a major public-private partnership (PPP) project of the Victorian government.
The firm advised Netflow consortium, which was announced as the preferred bidder earlier this month on the $1.8bn “Western Road Upgrade” project. This will be Australia’s first road development and maintenance contract to be delivered via an availability-payment-style PPP.
The consortium is formed by Netflow, a Cintra and Plenary joint venture, as project sponsor; WBHO Infrastructure as design and construction lead; and the Amey Broadspectrum joint venture as services contractor. The project involves eight priority road projects.
Allens fielded lawyers who specialise in transport infrastructure, banking and finance, tax, corporate, and planning and environment to win the bidding.
It team was led by partner Emma Warren, who was supported by partner James Darcy, managing associate Paul Telford, and associates Amy Biggins and Ben van Weel.
