Allens doubles down on legal product development

Allens has launched an expanded an expanded Legal Product Lab and tapped an experienced product-development expert to head the group.

Penelope Barr has been appointed to lead the new lab, which is part of Allens’ “a+ solutions” offering. Barr was previously with ANZ, where she headed the Big 4 bank’s Centre of Expertise.

She brings to the role more than two decades’ experience in digital product development, software development, and business transformation.

The Legal Product Lab will build Allens’ suite of legal, regulatory risk, and compliance projects. Barr leads a growing team of product development experts and technologists who will work with legal specialists across the firm, Allens said.

“Penelope's appointment recognises the opportunities we see in the market in relation to innovation and product delivery, and allows us to build on our existing product portfolio to further meet market demand,” said Anna Collyer, Allens partner and head of innovation.
