AdventBalance to take on traditional law in Brisbane

‘Insourcing’ legal advice model pioneer AdventBalance has declared its new Brisbane office will be a stepping stone to growth in Brisbane and north east Australia

‘Insourcing’ legal advice model pioneer AdventBalance has declared its new Brisbane office will be a stepping stone to growth in Brisbane and north east Australia.

Adding to Australian offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, the firm said Brisbane will become a new hub for providing lawyers to in-house teams in the north east region.

The firm’s existing representative in Brisbane and Australian Corporate Law Association Queensland state president, Lisa Lombardi, will support AdventBalance’s expansion plans.

AdventBalance chief executive Ken Jagger said the firm had experienced increasing demand for alternatives to the traditional law firm model in the state of Queensland.

“This year, we will focus on consolidating and growing our offering for both international and national businesses, and Brisbane will play a key role in our expansion plans,” he said.

“We’ve seen a real growth in the need for experienced in-house counsel across the state and we hope to become the leading provider of alternative legal services in Queensland.”

AdventBalance’s footprint includes a regional presence in Singapore and Hong Kong, and the firm now has 130 lawyers across the region. It provides an ‘alternative’ model to traditional law, by providing lawyers in-house as needed for an agreed duration and fee.

The firm experienced 25% revenue growth in 2013, with a 2013 FY revenue of $21m.
