Appointment marks the industry veteran’s return to the firm
Commercial law firm DibbsBarker has appointed an ex-senior associate at Henry Davis York as a partner in its banking, insolvency, and disputes team.
In his new role, Ben Shaw will focus on dispute resolution and litigation in the finance industry. His appointment marks a return to DibbsBarker, where he practised in the Brisbane office for more than six years until 2015.
“Ben’s appointment rounds out a continued period of strategic investment in our Banking, Insolvency & Disputes team,” said DibbsBarker managing partner Stephen Purcell. “Within the past year we have welcomed front-end banking and finance partner Jason Morris in Melbourne, and bolstered our restructuring and insolvency offering across all offices with the arrival of John Stragalinos and Joanne Hardwick in Melbourne, Wendy Jacobs and her team in Sydney, and now Ben’s return to our Brisbane office.”
According to the law firm, Shaw has significant experience advising and representing Australia’s four pillar banks as well as major regional banks and financial institutions. He has also acted for many of Australia’s leading insolvency practitioners and large commercial clients on various insolvency issues, including cross-border matters.
