Juliet Jones, Legal Director, Vodafone New Zealand

Juliet Jones leads a team of 12 lawyers, who are in charge of all legal responsibilities at Vodafone New Zealand (a business offering services to more than 3 million consumers and businesses), including telecommunications regulation, consumer protection and privacy. Jones has been an integral part of the sale of Vodafone New Zealand from Vodafone Group to a consortium of Infratil and Brookfield. At NZD$3.4 billion this was one of New Zealand’s largest M&A transactions ever seen and was extremely complex including due to the regulatory approvals required. In the past 12 months, she has also advised on aspects of the 5G rollout; led various regulatory engagements, and negotiated deals with key market participants in relation to strategic infrastructure alliances.
