Following the announcement of two new partners, Buddle Findlay has unveiled four more promotions to senior roles.

Alex Chapman and Anna Wishart have been elevated to special counsel, while Michael Finucane and Rowan Woods have ascended to senior associate. The promotions took effect on 1 January.

Chapman is part of the corporate and commercial team in Wellington. She focuses on commercial contracting, particularly technology, privacy and data protection, and IP.

She has advised on complex technology procurement and outsourcing matters, as well as on privacy and cross-border data protection issues.

Wishart works with the corporate and commercial team in Christchurch. She has tackled matters involving trust, private client, commercial, and corporate law.

She has negotiated and documented corporate and commercial structures in addition to preparing commercial agreements. She has worked with private and institutional clients, and is an expert in succession planning and related private client law.

Finucane works with the corporate and commercial team in Auckland. He has handled issues related to contractual, regulatory, privacy and procurement.

He has tackled commercial agreements, medico-legal issues, health sector regulation, privacy law and the management of investigations by regulators like the Health and Disability Commissioner.

Woods is part of the Christchurch litigation team. She has taken on contentious consumer credit issues and the Farm Debt Mediation Scheme, insolvency, and leasing and property development disputes.

She has also handled contract and trust disputes, as well as local government issues like development contributions.
