TressCox Lawyers has expanded its physical presence to Wellington, New Zealand, as the firm also announced its promotions for 2017.
The national firm has entered into a professional relationship with New Zealand’s Fernhill Solutions, a boutique consultancy and advisory service that specialises the design, valuation, and commissioning of health and social sector services. The firm will operate from the same offices as Fernhill Solutions in Wellington.
The firm said its expansion is due to its increasing client base in New Zealand, particularly its increasing work for the New Zealand government in the probity and procurement space. Being more accessible in the country is the next step as its government team, led by partner Brian Ambler, anticipate and respond to client needs.
Scott Chapman, TressCox Lawyers executive chairman, said that the firm has worked closely with Dave Crowley, Fernhill Solutions director, on a number of matters. Crowley said that his company is looking forward to providing a full service offering in New Zealand and consultancy and advisory services in Australia.
TressCox Lawyers has also announced its 2017 promotions, elevating two to special counsel, six to senior associate, and three to associate.
Melinda Conry and Anjali Woodford, senior associates of the firm’s health and aged care group, have been named special counsel. Conry, who’s based in Sydney, is a litigator in general insurance and personal injury matters. She has a particular focus on medical negligence litigation and acts for hospitals and doctors. Melbourne based Woodford acts for insurers and medical practitioners in medical negligence claims.
Promoted to senior associate are Ashley Cameron (Sydney), Emma Einsiedel (Melbourne), Zoe Hamilton (Sydney), Adam Hempenstall (Brisbane), Keely Horan (Sydney), and Manit Oberoi (Sydney). The firm has also promoted Melanie Hogg, Magdalena Howell, and Patricia Marinovic to associate.
