The Attorney General has announced the appointment of ten acting District Court judges.
Attorney-General Christopher Finlayson today announced the appointment of 10 acting District Court judges.
Auckland barrister and solicitor Warren Cathcart has been appointed as an acting District Court Judge with a jury warrant to serve in the Gisborne District Court. He is to be sworn in on 7 August in Auckland.
Auckland barrister Richard Earwaker has been appointed as an acting District Court Judge with a jury warrant to serve in the Manukau District Court and will also be sworn in on 7 August in Auckland.
Dunedin barrister and solicitor Jim Large has been appointed as an acting District Court Judge with a jury warrant to serve in the Palmerston North District Court, being sworn in on 24 August in Dunedin.
Solicitor-General of the Cook Islands Kim Saunders has been appointed to serve in the Hamilton District Court, being sworn in on 30 July in Manukau.
Napier barrister Tony Snell will serve in the Rotorua District Court and is set to be sworn in on 18 August in Napier.
Nelson barrister Garry Barkle will serve in the New Plymouth District Court, and will be sworn in on 6 August in Nelson.
Dunedin barrister Lynne Harrison has been appointed as an acting District Court Judge with a Family Court warrant to also serve in the New Plymouth District Court, and will be sworn in on 20 August in Dunedin.
