The insurance litigation expert moves up two years after joining the firm

Shine Lawyers NZ appoints director
Shine Lawyers New Zealand has promoted Karl Robinson to director.

Robinson specialises in insurance, professional negligence, and construction litigation. He has particular expertise in professional indemnity disputes involving real estate agents and lawyers. He is also a specialist in claims against construction-industry professionals, including architects, plasterers, building certifiers, surveyors, and engineers.

He joined Shine Lawyers in December 2015 as a senior associate, moving from Auckland insurance-litigation specialist boutique McElroys, where he spent seven years as a lawyer.

Robinson has a BA in political studies and an LLB from Otago University. He joined the bar in New Zealand in 2000.

Listed law firm Shine Lawyers entered the New Zealand market in 2015, when it acquired the North Shore practice of Andrew Hooker.
