Private equity experts re-joins Clifford Chance as partner in London

Clifford Chance has appointed Neil Evans as a private equity partner based in London.

Evans re-joins Clifford Chance from Mayer Brown's private equity practice, having advised on transactions with a range of clients, including Blackstone, KKR, and Bain Capital.

In a statement, the Magic Circle firm said Evans's appointment reflected its “continued investment in its global private equity practice.”

“A market leader since the private equity industry's inception in the 1980s, Clifford Chance has over 700 private equity lawyers globally and the team supports clients throughout the world's major financial centres and emerging markets,” the firm said in its statement.

“Holistic, high quality, and commercially-focused experience and insight has been at the heart of our private equity practice since we began working alongside the pioneers of the industry,” said Jonny Myers, global head of private equity at Clifford Chance. “Now more than ever, this is what the sector needs, and Neil Evans will play a key role ensuring that we remain best placed to support private equity as it plays a transformative role in the global economy. I am delighted to welcome home Neil Evans, and we look forward to continuing our success together."

"Returning to Clifford Chance feels like coming home,” said Evans. “Having had a great start to my career at the firm, I am excited to be able to bring the benefit of my experiences in the wider industry back to work alongside familiar faces. A pioneer in the sector, Clifford Chance has enviable European and global capabilities, and I look forward to working hand in hand with my new colleagues and clients on the investments that will shape the future."
