Preston Russell Law appoints new partner

Preston Russell Law has appointed Rebecca McLeod as partner.

McLeod, who heads the firm’s Winton office, is an expert in employment law, with a particular focus on health and safety laws. Based in Central Southland, she is also available by appointment in Mossburn.

She has extensive experience in private client and commercial work. She also assists in her family’s dairy farming business, which gives her a unique perspective in the sector that includes practical farming knowledge.

McLeod has worked with the Dairy Women’s Network, playing a role in the organisation’s health and safety resources that is used all over Southland.

She is also active in the community, being president of the Southland Free Kindergarten Association and working with the Dipton Community Baths Trust and the Winton Community Support Worker Committee.

The appointment comes after Preston Russell’s merger with Macalisters Lawyers went live at the start of the month.

Preston Russell has had the Crown Solicitor warrant for Southland, encompassing Queenstown and Wanaka, for more than four decades. Its team is based in Invercargill, Queenstown, Te Anau, Wyndham, Winton, and by appointment in Mossburn.
