MinterEllisonRuddWatts has acted in Volution Group’s acquisition of its long-time partner in New Zealand, Simx Limited.

The top law firm acted for Simx shareholders, who acted as vendors on the deal. Simx was acquired for $72m as part of Volution’s plan to add businesses in other markets for residential and commercial ventilation.

 “With bases in Auckland and Christchurch, Simx has built a strong market reputation as the leading residential ventilation product provider in the New Zealand market. It has also been a trading partner of Volution Group for more than 20 years,” said Mark Forman, lead partner on the transaction. “The acquisition highlights the attractiveness of New Zealand companies internationally and their appeal as solid investment opportunities.”

Partners Steve Gallaugher and David Gilbert also acted in the deal. Also assisting were senior associates Jo Carrick-Anderson and Amanda Spratt, as well as solicitor Syavie Gharmy.
