The appointments are a key part of the firm's strategy
MinterEllisonRuddWatts has boosted its senior ranks with the promotion of five lawyers to senior posts.
The promotions show the growth of the firm, particularly the banking and financial services, dispute resolution and real estate practices, the firm said.

The firm has elevated Kate Jenkison, a member of the firm’s banking and financial services team in Auckland, to special counsel. She is known for her technical excellence and procedural knowledge and has had extensive experience on secondment as general counsel and corporate counsel.

In Auckland, the firm has promoted Jenny Ali and Daniel Fielding to senior associate. In Wellington, Emma Peart and Molly Powers have been promoted to senior associate.
The firm said that Ali, a member of the firm’s real estate group, is a technically well-rounded lawyer who has been involved in major real estate matters. She has also played a key role in the firm’s mentoring and training initiatives, as well as in the firm’s China practice.
Fielding, a dispute resolution expert, has a particular focus on employment and public law. He has particular expertise in arbitration, focusing in the area after finishing an LLM in Singapore.
Peart just joined the firm in January from Jones Day in London. A member of the firm’s dispute resolution team, she is highly sought, the firm said. She has been seconded back to Jones Day to continue work on an international commercial arbitration matter. She is helping further develop the firm’s arbitration practice, the firm said.
Power, a member of the dispute resolution team, is an expert in employment law. She has had extensive experience in the US, rising to associate in leading Chicago firm Jenner & Block. Her experience has bolstered the firm’s class-action and cybersecurity expertise, MinterEllisonRuddWatts said.
The firm has also promoted Alannah Manson of the Auckland corporate team and Julian Spring of the Auckland dispute resolution team to senior solicitor.
