Malley & Co advances four, welcomes two

Malley & Co has appointed six lawyers, including  four promotions and two lateral hires.

Promoted to senior associate within the firm are Michael McKay, Sarah White, and Colleen Moore. Promoted to senior lawyer is Andrew Logie.

The firm has also welcomed Chantal Morkel as senior associate and Lani Gerber as associate.

McKay, who joined the firm in 2012, specialises in construction and insurance litigation. He is also experienced in arbitration and mediation.

White, who has been with the firm since 2014, is an expert in relationship property, day-to-day care, and contact disputes. She is also experience in applications under the Hague convention on the civil aspects of child abduction, contracting-out agreements, divorce and separation, and matters with international elements.

Moore is a member of the firm’s family law team. Working with the firm since 2008, she is a specialist in all aspects of family law, particularly relationship property and contracting-out agreements, separation and divorce, care of children, and guardianship disputes.

Logie, who joined Malley & Co in 2015, is a part of the firms commercial and property team.

Morkel joined the firm from Cavell Leitch in Christchurch, where she was an associate. She is an expert in commercial, property, and trust law, with particular experience in trust, asset planning, and retirement village advice.

Gerber is the firm’s branch manager for their Hornby, Christchurch office. She is a member of the firm’s commercial and property team.

Both Morkel and Gerber started their legal careers in South Africa.
