Lowndes has named Sarah Kerr as its newest director.

The senior lawyer brings with her more than 20 years of experience. She earned her LLB (Hons) from the University of Auckland in 1996 and commenced her legal career as a solicitor at Simpson Grierson .

She then moved to Frankfurt in 1998 to become a solicitor at Clifford Chance, before transferring to US firm Holme Roberts & Owen in London in 2000.

Kerr, who’s now based in Auckland, moved back to New Zealand in 2002 and joined MinterEllisonRuddWatts as a senior solicitor. She became partner at Hesketh Henry in 2004, spending nearly 10 years with the firm before moving on to Brown Partners Lawyers where she was also partner.

She is an expert in corporate law, with a particular focus on M&A, venture capital, joint venture and shareholder agreements, corporate governance, and commercial contracts drafting and negotiation.

Kerr’s clients come from a broad range of industries, including nutritional supplements and natural health products, retail, industrial lubricants, automotive parts and accessories, market research, life sciences and diagnostic products.
