Kim Kardashian's 4th 'baby bar' exam attempt a success

Passing the exam means the reality TV star can continue her journey to becoming an attorney in California

Kim Kardashian's 4th 'baby bar' exam attempt a success

Kim Kardashian has announced that her fourth attempt to pass California’s First-Year Law Students’ Examination was a success.

In an Instagram post, the reality TV star wrote that she had come up short “three times in two years.” She said she failed her third attempt while suffering from COVID-19.

The First-Year Law Students’ Examination, which has been called the “baby bar” exam, was described by Law.com as a “notoriously difficult” exam to pass, with only 21% of takers making the cut in November 2020 and June 2021. The exam is a requirement for people “reading the law,” like Kardashian, and for students of law schools that were not accredited by either the American Bar Association or the state bar.

While test-takers are normally given only three opportunities to pass the exam, the state of California allowed an additional attempt due to the pandemic, according to the American Bar Association Journal. Kardashian was among the test-takers that passed the exam set on 26 October, Above the Law reported.

“I know my dad would be so proud and he would actually be so shocked to know that this is my path now, but he would have been my best study partner. I am told he was notorious for making fun of people who didn’t pass on their first attempt like he did, but he would have been my biggest cheerleader!” Kardashian wrote.

Robert Kardashian had been one of the lawyers to defend former American football star O.J. Simpson as he faced murder charges.

Kim Kardashian will be required to complete further studies and pass a second bar exam before being allowed to practise as an attorney in California.

“For anyone who doesn't know my law school journey, know this wasn't easy or handed to me. I was told by top lawyers that this was a close to impossible journey and harder than the traditional law school route but it was my only option and it feels so so sooooo good to be here and on my way to achieving my goals,” she wrote in the post.
