Kensington Swan swoops in on special counsel from London

Kensington Swan has added a new special counsel to boost its national employment team.

James Warren will have an integral role in leading the employment law practice, Kensington Swan said.

He has moved to Auckland from London, where he was most recently a partner at Fieldfisher. He brings to the firm 20 years’ experience in employment law in both New Zealand and the UK.

Warren began his legal career as a solicitor at Cunningham Taylor in Christchurch in 1997, before making the move to Clifford Chance in London in 2000. He was also a solicitor at Southwark Council in London.

“The addition of James’s talent and expertise to the firm supports Kensington Swan’s continued drive to deliver unbeatable service to clients,” the firm said.

Warren’s practice covers a wide range of industries, with a particular focus in the technology, media, and retail sectors.

The appointment follows Kensington Swan’s recruitment of Paul Holth in April, who first joined the firm as special counsel and was promoted to the partnership in May.
