Firm appoints environment and planning partner

The new partner has dual legal and planning qualifications and 15 years’ experience in top law firms.

Kensington Swan has announced the appointment of Christina Sheard as the firm’s new environment and planning partner.

Sheard, who has 15 years’ experience in top law firms in Auckland and London, will join Nicky McIndoe who leads the firm’s Environment and Planning Team.

The lawyer is a resource management specialist who finished her LLB at the University of Auckland and her MPlan at the University of Canterbury, according to the firm’s website.

These qualifications give Sheard a unique ability to provide pragmatic legal advice on environmental and planning issues, the firm said, adding that the promotion adds substantial experience to Kensington Swan’s growing national Environment and Planning Team.

Sheard currently advises on resource management issues for major infrastructure providers, councils and private sector clients.

Her experience also includes district and regional plan formulation, private plan change applications and legislative reform.
