Emirates Team New Zealand picks exclusive legal supplier

Bell Gully has been chosen as the exclusive legal supplier to Emirates Team New Zealand for the 36th America’s Cup defence.

“I think we were all enthralled by the last America's Cup in Bermuda – the impressive AC50s, the intense high speed racing and, of course, Emirates Team New Zealand lifting the cup,” said Anna Buchly, Bell Gully chairwoman.

“As an exclusive legal supplier for the 36th America's Cup defence, we are proud to become part of the Emirates Team New Zealand team and contribute to defending the 'Auld Mug' in 2021,” she added.

On March 2021, Emirates Team New Zealand will host the next America’s Cup in Auckland. The hosting comes after the team won in Bermuda last year.

The event will be preceded by the Prada Cup, which will determine the challenger to race Emirates Team New Zealand in the 36th America’s Cup. Circolo della Vela Cicilia, represented by Luna Rossa Challenge, is the “Challenger of Record for the regatta.

Other challengers include Ben Ainslie’s INEOS Team UK and the New York Yacht Club. They will be competing in Auckland with a series of preliminary regattas with the new AC75s at other venues around the world. The preliminary regattas start next year.
