DLA Piper elevates 3 to special counsel in NZ
DLA Piper has promoted three of its lawyers in New Zealand to special counsel.

The firm said it elevated Brad Cuff, Richard Tosh, and Nicola Daly to continue its push to attract and retain talent in the country.

Cuff specialises in litigation, particularly in acting for insurance companies on litigated and disputed claims. In addition to his extensive litigation practice, he focuses on professional indemnity litigation, working for professionals in New Zealand and Australia.

He joined DLA Piper in 2012 from Parker & Associates. He also previously worked at MinterEllison and insurer Chubb.

Tosh has both domestic and insurance experience in insurance and civil litigation, having working in the UK and Hong Kong. He also provides indemnity and liability advice to insurers and acts in both civil and disciplinary proceedings.

Tosh joined DLA Piper in New Zealand in 2014. He was previously with Jones Fee, CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang, and Kennedys.

Daly, who specialises in commercial, corporate, and regulatory matters, acts for both public and private sector clients on commercial contracts procurement, tendering, large-scale projects, and infrastructure developments. She also has extensive knowledge in IT, including cybersecurity, data and systems integrity, and continuance.

Before joining DLA Piper in New Zealand, she worked at other large law firms in the country and in the UK.
