DLA Phillips Fox announces partner promotion

DLA Phillips Fox has announced the appointment of a new partner in its Auckland office

DLA Phillips Fox has announced the promotion to the partnership of Marie Evans, a litigation and dispute resolution lawyer.

Evans has worked at DLA Phillips Fox for over two years, after moving from the United Kingdom where she worked for Shakespears and Roythornes LLP.  She has worked with blue chip companies, utilities, hospital trusts, major pharmaceutical companies, large engineering firms, and major retailers.

In New Zealand, Evans’ work has also encompassed complex insurance claims, and in DLA Phillips Fox’s healthcare team, utilising her specialist medico-legal expertise.

Previous work has included advising upon and preparing evidence to put before the Royal Commission of Inquiry into the building failures caused by the Canterbury earthquakes. She also acts for a variety of insurers, including ACE Insurance Limited, ACS (NZ) Limited, and Lloyds of London Syndicates.

As part of the promotion, Evans will be undertaking a wider leadership role in the business of the firm itself.
