Clyde & Co hires leading disputes lawyer from Ince

Nicholas Lum is re-joining Clyde & Co in Shanghai, the office he joined shortly after it was opened in 2006.

Lum will join in December from Ince where he was a partner and formerly head of their Singapore office’s China Practice Group. He is a dispute resolution specialist with particular focus on international trade and commodities, shipping and shipbuilding and general commercial disputes.

"We are pleased to be welcoming Nicholas back to Clyde & Co as a partner, which speaks volumes of both our firm and culture,” said Ik Wei Chong, Asia managing director. “Nicholas will spearhead our cross-border dispute resolution efforts from our China offices, and spend significant time in Singapore, working with our team across South East Asia."

Konexo, the alternative legal services business of Eversheds Sutherland has hired a new leader to further bolster its technology credentials.

Its new head of Product, Technology Innovation and Transformation is Babar Hayat, previously with Thomson Reuters as Senior Director of Product Strategy and LegalTech Innovation.

At Konexo, Hayat will focus on the use of data and insights to drive innovation in product delivery.

Konexo launched in May 2019 through the merging of three well-established teams at Eversheds Sutherland – ES Consulting, Corporate Secretarial and Insolvency – into a new division.  

Nixon Peabody eyes growth through innovation

US-headquartered firm Nixon Peabody has hired a veteran marketing expert to drive innovation and growth.

Danielle Wuschke Paige has been appointed to the role of Chief Marketing and Growth Officer and as a newcomer to the legal services industry she brings a fresh perspective which she believes the firm will embrace.

“Nixon Peabody’s appetite for innovation and its openness to try new things attracted me to the firm and the legal industry,” Danielle said. “The firm has a strong brand and I look forward to leading this talented marketing team.”

She joins the firm from her own marketing agency but was previously chief operating officer of global PR firm MSL among other key industry roles. She has experience across industries including technology, professional services, B2B, retail, consumer products, and healthcare.
