Chapman Tripp has appointed litigation expert Victoria Heine as its newest chair. Heine expert succeeds Roger Wallis, who has returned full-time to his corporate and commercial practice after three years as chair.
Heine, who has been deputy chair since 2015, has particular expertise in judicial review, administrative law, public law and regulatory enforcement. Acting for a wide range of public and private sector clients, she is considered to be among the top lawyers in administrative law disputes and regulatory investigations.
She finished her bachelor of science in biochemistry and first class honours bachelor of law degrees from Victoria University of Wellington in 1992. Heine began her law career at Russell McVeagh in 1993 as a solicitor before leaving to finish her law and economics master of laws degree from the University of Chicago Law School in 1997.
She practiced as a barrister from 1998 to 2002, before becoming partner at Chen Palmer and Partners. She joined Chapman Tripp in 2005 and became partner in 2008.
