Brent O’Callahan joins Bankside Chambers

Senior advocate Brent O’Callahan has joined Bankside Chambers.

He brings over three decades of commercial and civil litigation experience, having tackled complex disputes in company law, insolvency, asset recovery, equitable claims, and interim relief including as freezing and charging orders. He has appeared before senior courts in New Zealand, acting for private individuals, insolvency practitioners and corporate clients in high-stakes litigation.

O’Callahan has particular expertise in in multi-party disputes, cross-border enforcement, and urgent interlocutory applications. He previously represented the late Michael Kidd in Kidd’s significant multi-jurisdictional claim case against Alex van Heeren.

O’Callahan logged stints at Carter & Partners and K3 Legal, where he was a partner. He transitioned to Arapata Chambers as a barrister sole in 2019.
