BREAKING NEWS: Lundy found guilty of double murder

Mark Lundy has been found guilty of the murder of his wife and daughter.

Two guilty verdicts have been handed to Mark Lundy for the murder of his wife and daughter – for the second time.

According to the New Zealand Herald, the jury returned the verdicts at a packed High Court at Wellington this afternoon.

The jury had deliberated for 16 hours over more than two days, and once they returned the verdicts, Justice Simon France decided to sentence Lundy immediately.

He re-imposed the previous penalty after he was found guilty of the double murder in 2002 - life imprisonment with a minimum non-parole period of 20 years, the Herald said.

Justice France asked Lundy to stand down in custody. He left the court without looking at the public gallery.
