The firm strengthens its financial services team

Anthony Harper welcomes new partner

Anthony Harper has welcomed Nick Summerfield to the partnership.

Summerfield joins the firm from Kensington Swan, where he was recently promoted to special counsel. The appointment bolsters the firm’s financial services team, said Malcolm Hurley, Anthony Harper managing partner.

“Nick's deep understanding of the financial services industry includes advising banks, insurance companies, fund managers, companies, supervisors and investors. His clients value his considered advice, his responsiveness and his assistance in adding value to their business,” he said.

Summerfield advises on all areas of financial services law, including investment funds, insurance, capital markets, financial adviser law, and financial service provider regulation. He has a particular focus on debt capital markets.

The firm’s national financial services team complements the firm’s banking and corporate advisory team, Anthony Harper said. Summerfield’s expertise and client focus add to these teams’ reputation, having been consistently recognised in international directories and guides as “highly commercial and responsive,” it said.

“The financial services sector is highly regulated, and Nick's expertise and commercial pragmatism is well placed to meet our clients' complex needs,” Hurley said.

In February, the firm welcomed partner Mark Gavin. In January, Anthony Harper announced its largest promotion round yet.
