James & Wells appoint new patent attorney

James & Wells have announced the appointment of Dr Andrew Scott as a patent attorney in their Christchurch office.

Scott is a registered patent attorney in both New Zealand and Australia and specialises in the food technology and pharmaceutical industries. The firm believes his appointment will 'significantly increase' the high end specialist intellectual property expertise available in the Canterbury region.

"Andrew’s expertise enables him to prepare and prosecute patent applications for inventions within the organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry and polymer chemistry sector in New Zealand and overseas. Andrew’s breadth of experience includes disparate technologies such as low calorie beer production, cheese processing, pesticidal compositions, monoclonal antibody therapeutics and implantable devices."
