McCabes makes way for new principal Kim Waygood

McCabes has brought in Kim Waygood as the newest principal in its insurance division. 

Waygood is a specialist in public liability, workers’ compensation, professional indemnity, product liability, and insurance disputes. She has worked on defendant insurance litigation for more than 20 years.  

“Kim’s proven expertise and highly regarded insurance litigation background make her an exceptional asset to McCabes, specifically in vitalising the capabilities of our insurance offering in Brisbane”, McCabes managing principal Andrew Lacey said.

Waygood has tackled medical negligence matters, regulatory investigations, and coronial inquiries. She has collaborated with insurers and self-insured corporations across the retail, hospitality, construction, and mining sectors; she has also acted for local councils and government-owned corporations. 

Prior to making the jump to McCabes, she was a special counsel with HBA Legal and also logged a stint with Ashurst
