Squire Patton Boggs boosts M&A and energy practice in Italy

Squire Patton Boggs has appointed Paolo Zamberletti as a partner in its corporate practice group in Milan. Zamberletti is active in M&A, joint venture and other commercial transactions, with a particular focus on the Italian and international energy sector. He joins from K&L Gates in Milan, where he was responsible for its Italian energy practice.

Zamberletti’s experience includes work on the corporate and regulatory aspects of several projects involving the construction and management of LNG regasification terminals, such as the offshore Rovigo regasification terminal, the largest currently in operation in Italy.

“We are delighted to have Paolo join the office in Milan,” said Galileo Pozzoli, managing partner of the Milan office. “One of the core pillars of our business is complex corporate transactional work and Paolo will be a great boost to our capabilities. His expertise and connections will also further strengthen our relationships particularly across the energy sector, which is an area where our team has earned a market-leading reputation.”

Zamberletti has 25 years of experience in domestic and cross-border M&A, joint venture and other corporate and commercial transactions, spanning across a variety of industry sectors, including manufacturing, financial, health care and record management sectors. He has a particular focus on the energy sector, including oil & gas, LNG, power and renewables, where he advises clients on transactional, commercial and regulatory matters and supports litigation teams in connection with energy-related disputes.

“Our corporate practice has been busy, including across Italy and Europe, where we have invested significantly to meet client demand and provide an increasingly specialised and sophisticated range of services,” said Tony Reed, head of Corporate EMEA. “Paolo’s technical expertise and extensive experience will be an invaluable additional asset to our corporate offering in Europe.”

Zamberletti added: “I am excited to join Squire Patton Boggs. The firm’s experience, reputation and connections in the energy sector across its worldwide platform will be key to further develop the international breadth of my practice. I am also thrilled to contribute to the strategic growth of the firm’s Milan office.”
