Reed Smith grows Singapore space

Reed Smith has moved to a new space in Singapore as its team continues to grow in the city-state.

The global firm has moved to a larger space in the Ocean Financial Centre Building in Raffles Place. It continues to share its space with formal law alliance partner Resource Law.

Reed Smith established a Singapore presence in 2012 and inked its alliance with Resource Law in 2016. The firm now has 57 staff, including 36 lawyers, in the operation.

In April, the firm welcomed partner Daniel Perera to its energy and natural resources group in Singapore from Norton Rose Fulbright. Last month, the firm welcomed associate Joel Cockerell to its shipping group there.

Reed Smith uses its Singapore operations as a hub for clients with interests in Singapore and the region, including in Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Southeast Asia.

The firm’s new office in Raffles Place, which was designed by JLL’s PDM International, has a larger conference and breakout area. The firm said it will continue to host events for over 100 guests to utilise the space.

“This is an exciting move for us, which reflects our rapidly growing team and symbolises our long-term commitment to Singapore and to the Asia-Pacific region,” said Barry Stimpson, managing partner of Reed Smith Singapore.
