Commonwealth Bank’s CEO has announced a new group GC.

Commonwealth Bank CEO Ian Narev has announced the appointment of Anna Lenahan as incoming group general counsel and group executive group corporate affairs.

Lenahan, who hails from the corporate partnership at Allens, will join CBA from her role as group general counsel and company secretary for Suncorp Group.

She takes over from David Cohen, who has been appointed group chief risk officer.

“We are delighted to welcome Anna to CBA's Executive Committee,” Narev said of the appointment.

“In addition to her legal, regulatory, risk and governance expertise, she has shown herself to be a values-driven leader with strong commercial judgment.”

In her early career, Lenahan worked as a crown prosecutor with the Department of Public Prosecutions in Perth.
She will take up the position later this year.
